Ufa team goalkeeper Aleksandr Belenov spoke about rejecting a move to Moscow Spartak club last summer. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
The experienced player could not accept the role offered in the team. He stated that he was allocated a place as the third goalkeeper and considers it pointless to accept such an offer since he does not want to play.
In an interview with Sport24, the goalkeeper said, "I was told I would be the third goalkeeper. I want to play, so there is no need to move to such a team.
I can stay at home with my wife," he said. Aleksandr Belenov played for Spartak from 2010 to 2011.
Currently, his contract with Ufa is set to last until the middle of next year. The Transfermarkt portal estimates the transfer value of the 38-year-old player at around 100 thousand euros.
Belenov's decision and position in the team may affect his football career.
