Semshov: There was no competition in the last season of the RPL
Former Moscow clubs "Torpedo" and "Dinamo" midfielder Igor Semshov shared his thoughts on the conclusions of the 2024/2025 Russian Premier League season. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.

According to the expert, there was a complete lack of interest and competition in sports by the end of the season. He noted that only one team was relegated to the lower league last season, while two teams – "Pari NN" and "Orenburg" – theoretically were relegated but actually remained in the league.

This situation was highlighted by the publication "RB Sport". The "Pari NN" team lost to "Sochi" in the playoff matches, but managed to stay in the RPL due to the financial problems of the "Khimki" team, which withdrew from the league.

Additionally, the "Torpedo" team was directly promoted to the RPL, but the club's management was accused of attempting to bribe referees, leading to the league being returned to PARI. This situation indicates that Russian football had a weak sporting season and emphasizes the need for serious measures to enhance the competitiveness of the league in the future.
