Former player of the "Spartak" team, Yevgeniy Lovchev, does not understand the team's decision to invite Anton Zabolotniy to the attack line. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
At the beginning of the summer, the 34-year-old forward signed a one-season contract with the "red-white" team. In an interview with "Match TV," Lovchev emphasized that the transition from players like Cherenkov, Gavrilov, Titov, and Alenichev to Zabolotniy is incomprehensible to him.
At the same time, he expressed confidence in the team's head coach, Deyan Stankovich. According to the former player, it was the right decision for the "red-white" team to extend the contract with the Serbian coach.
Lovchev called on the Spartak leaders to bring in truly strong new players for Stankovich and said, "Bring in good players, not players like Zabolotniy, and give the coach a chance to work peacefully." The first game of the 2025/2026 season will be held on July 19, Saturday.
The "Spartak" team, led by Deyan Stankovich, will host the "Dinamo" team from Makhachkala.
