Russia, the USA, and Ukraine: When will the summit take place?

The issue of holding a high-level meeting between Russia, the US, and Ukraine remains one of the important topics on the international agenda. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to Kremlin press secretary Dmitry Peskov, a trilateral meeting involving Vladimir Putin, Donald Trump, and Volodymyr Zelenskyy will only make sense once the negotiation process reaches its final stage. Such a meeting can only be held to formally confirm the agreements reached.
Peskov emphasized that this summit is organized not to start negotiations but to conclude them. For now, Moscow is not in a hurry to hold a meeting at the leaders' level.
According to the Kremlin, first, working groups and delegations must reach a common solution on the main issues. Only then can a meeting involving the heads of state be effective.
This approach reflects the Kremlin's cautious and step-by-step policy. At the same time, details of the phone conversation between US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy have also become known.
During this conversation, Trump expressed his desire to end the war between Russia and Ukraine as soon as possible. Zelenskyy, in turn, expressed gratitude for the assistance provided by America and emphasized that he believes Trump has the ability to persuade Vladimir Putin to stop the hostilities.
The Ukrainian leader hoped that the conflict would end within this year. Trump's position on ending the war quickly attracted special attention.
He stated that he wants to achieve peace in a short time. According to some sources, Trump aimed to accomplish this within a month, while others report that his goal is to reach a peace agreement by summer.
However, many obstacles remain on this path. On February 17–18, the next round of talks took place in Geneva with representatives from Russia, the US, and Ukraine.
According to Reuters, these talks did not lead to serious results. The Ukrainian side expressed dissatisfaction with the negotiations, while the US noted some positive progress.
Russia described the negotiations as difficult but businesslike. In summary, no definite date has yet been set for a meeting of the three heads of state around the same table.
The Kremlin plans to hold such a meeting only when final agreements are ready. Washington is striving to accelerate the process, while Kyiv hopes to end the war as soon as possible.
Now the main question is whether the negotiations at the delegation level will lead to a meeting of the leaders or not — time will tell.
