In China's Khokh-Sil reserve, scientists tested a new method for observing animals. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
They placed a robotic animal among real antelopes. This experiment aimed to make the process of observing animals more effective.
The robot is based on the X30 model dog and is almost indistinguishable from a real antelope in appearance. Only upon closer inspection can small observation cameras be seen under its eyes.
The robot moved freely among other antelopes in a herd at an altitude of 4500 meters near Lake Zonag, which is considered the habitat of these animals, without scaring them. This allowed scientists to take high-quality photos of the animals from a close distance.
According to the researchers, observation with the help of the robot is much safer and more effective than previous methods. Previously, they used telescopes and drones, but these devices often disturbed the animals.
The robot helped to observe the antelopes without disturbing them by covering a distance of nearly three kilometers in mountainous terrain. This innovation is considered an important step in studying the animal kingdom.
