Brian Armstrong, the CEO of Coinbase, announced that he has implemented mandatory use of artificial intelligence tools for his engineers and has dismissed employees who did not comply with this requirement. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to Armstrong, after licenses for GitHub Copilot and Cursor programs were purchased, some employees delayed using these technologies. Therefore, he informed employees on the main Slack channel that starting to use artificial intelligence tools by the end of the week is mandatory.
Otherwise, a meeting would be held on Saturday where those who failed to meet the requirement would have to explain their reasons. During the meeting, although some employees mentioned they were returning from a trip, those who were late without a valid reason were deemed unfit for work and were dismissed.
Armstrong described this measure as strict and severe but clearly stated that using artificial intelligence tools is not optional within the company. This decision reflects the company's policy aimed at adopting modern technologies and increasing efficiency.
