Apple has filed a lawsuit against former engineer Chen Shi and Oppo. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The lawsuit accuses industrial espionage and theft of trade secrets related to Apple Watch technologies. According to the information, Chen Shi worked at Apple as a sensor systems architect from January 2020 to June 2025.
He had access to the company’s internal developments, technical documents, and product roadmap. It was discovered that three days before his departure, he copied 63 confidential files onto a USB device.
Apple is asking the court to prohibit Oppo and Chen Shi from using the trade secrets, as well as to pay compensation for the damages caused and attorney fees. Oppo denies the accusations, emphasizes that the truth will be clarified during the court process, and has expressed its readiness to cooperate with the court.
This case once again highlights the importance of industrial security and intellectual property rights. The outcome of the trial could have significant implications for the industry.
