Smartphone manufacturing companies worldwide are preparing to increase the prices of new and modern devices. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to the DigiTimes publication, the price increase is mainly related to the rise in production costs and value. The large processor manufacturer TSMC, based in Taiwan, has informed its partners in advance of its intention to raise product prices by 5-10%.
This situation is expected to have a significant impact on the prices of new smartphones. Processors produced by TSMC will be used in the new iPhone models to be presented in September.
Additionally, Samsung Galaxy S26 flagship smartphones will also be equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 2 chips manufactured by TSMC. The latest Android smartphones are also produced based on Qualcomm processors.
Smartphones with the new prices may enter the market by the end of 2025. According to sources, smartphone manufacturers are seeking ways to reduce dependence on TSMC.
For example, Samsung may further develop its Exynos processors and return to producing models that compete with Qualcomm chips. This would allow companies to maintain an advantage in terms of price and technology.
At the same time, manufacturers are preparing for new models and price increases. This situation requires users to reconsider their plans for purchasing new smartphones.
As a result, competition in the market will intensify, and devices are expected to become more high-quality and innovative.
