The most powerful exaflop supercomputer in Europe — Jupiter — has been launched in the city of Jülich, Germany. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

This supercomputer was created based on processors developed by Nvidia and is capable of performing quintillion-level calculations per second. This indicates that its power is approximately equal to that of ten million ordinary laptops.

The Jupiter project was carried out in collaboration between the French Atos IT group and the German ParTec company. At the opening ceremony, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz emphasized that this supercomputer will enable Europe to compete with the US and China in the field of artificial intelligence.

According to experts, the Jupiter supercomputer is expected to be widely used in biotechnology, climate change, and other scientific research. This will help reduce Europe's dependence on foreign digital services.
