Officials from the United States and China are holding the second day of trade talks in Spain. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
These negotiations are taking place at a time when a buyer is being sought for the owner of the TikTok app or as the deadline for its ban in the US approaches. The talks are being led by US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng.
The main goal of the meetings is to secure a trade agreement between the two countries. The previous meeting took place in July in Sweden, where the agreement on tariffs was extended for 90 days.
The issue related to TikTok has been postponed several times despite initial decisions by Donald Trump. The president initially demanded a ban on the app but later extended the deadline.
Within the current negotiations, the two countries are discussing reducing tariffs and allocating additional time to resolve national security issues. These processes aim to improve bilateral trade relations.
Additionally, the talks serve to resolve trade disputes. This situation is expected to have a positive impact on the global economy as well.
