Google will establish a new data center near London. This center will serve to meet the demand for the company's cloud services and artificial intelligence-based products.
UK Chancellor of the Exchequer Rishi Sunak described this investment as a sign of confidence in the country's economy. According to Google data, the new investment will create more than 8,000 new jobs annually.
Additionally, Google, in collaboration with Shell, will contribute to the development of the country's energy system and ensure environmental sustainability. Starting from 2026, the company plans to conduct 95 percent of its operations in the UK using clean energy.
