The bot Diella, appointed as the first artificial intelligence minister within the Albanian government, delivered her first speech in parliament. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The newly appointed minister appeared before the deputies via screen in the form of a woman dressed in traditional Albanian national attire and, in her three-minute address, reminded the main principles of the constitution. In her speech, Diella spoke about institutions aimed at serving the people, emphasizing that the law is based not on a person's chromosomes, blood, or physical existence, but on responsibility, accountability, transparency, and equal opportunities for all citizens.
She also noted that any person is not less than their colleague, but sometimes can express themselves even more. The artificial intelligence minister stated that she views her role not as taking over people's jobs, but as a mechanism that helps and supports them.
For reference, Diella was introduced to the public last week by Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama as the world's first artificial intelligence minister. According to him, Diella means "sun" in Albanian and operates in the field of public procurement.
According to the plan, the entire process of public procurement will gradually be transferred under artificial intelligence control. Albania's step is regarded not only as a new stage in the country's history but also as a new phase in public administration worldwide.
