China has achieved a significant breakthrough in the field of renewable energy. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The country has created the world's largest floating wind turbine and is ready to test it. This turbine is located in Beihai city, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
The turbine has a capacity of 16 megawatts and its blade area is equivalent to seven football fields. The floating turbine was tested in water 50 meters deep and will later be connected to the power grid.
Its annual production capacity is 44.7 million kilowatt-hours of energy. This amount is sufficient to supply electricity to approximately four thousand households.
All parts of the turbine, including the gearbox and ballast system, were manufactured in China, demonstrating the country's pursuit of technological independence. This project helps China secure a leading position in the renewable energy sector and makes a significant contribution to the development of environmentally friendly energy production.
