Intel has laid off more than 35,500 employees in the last two years. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This information was provided by the Rozetked publication. Large-scale restructuring efforts are being carried out under the leadership of Lip Bu Tan, who was appointed CEO in mid-2025.
During his tenure, over 20,500 employees were laid off. By the end of September 2025, Intel's workforce had decreased to 88,400.
This figure was 108,900 a year ago. The layoffs were mainly carried out in the second quarter of the year and cost the company more than one billion dollars.
Although management described this process as “simplifying the structure,” many engineers also lost their jobs. Additionally, Intel reduced its research and development expenses by 800 million dollars, despite an increase in revenues.
It is said that these changes may affect the company's future operations.
