The national payment system HUMO and the international payment platform Alipay+ (part of Ant International) have established cooperation to develop international QR payments. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

The agreement was signed in Beijing, according to Business Wire. At the initial stage, HUMO users will be able to make payments in soms abroad, particularly in China, Kazakhstan, Thailand, the United Arab Emirates, and the United States, through their banking applications or electronic wallets.

The first integration into the Alipay+ system will be Octobank's Octomobile electronic wallet. Other HUMO participants are planned to join this system by the end of the year.

The cooperation also allows Alipay+ users to make payments at points of sale in Uzbekistan. This creates new opportunities in the tourism and retail sectors.

According to Maksad Mukhitdinov, the first deputy chairman of the HUMO management board, this agreement provides convenience for Uzbek users to travel worldwide and make payments, and offers businesses the opportunity to expand their audience. Currently, the HUMO system unites 35 banks and 42 non-bank financial institutions in the country.

Edward Yue, Alipay+'s general manager for Southeast Asia, Australia, and South Asia, emphasized that the cooperation will expand Alipay+'s activities in Central Asia, covering more than 45 million digital wallet users. Alipay+ integrates over 40 electronic wallets and banking applications, as well as 10 national QR payment systems, connecting 1.8 billion consumer accounts and more than 100 million points of sale.

This cooperation serves to further develop the regional payment infrastructure.
