Zendesk Acquires Forethought, a Leader in Artificial Intelligence

Zendesk has agreed to acquire Forethought, a startup that automates customer service processes using artificial intelligence. Zamin.uz reported on this news.
This partnership is expected to be fully completed by the end of March, with the merger of the two organizations aiming to elevate customer experience to a higher quality level based on modern technologies. According to reports, Forethought distinguished itself in the field of artificial intelligence several years ago and won the prestigious TechCrunch Battlefield competition in 2018.
This achievement was accomplished several years before popular tools like ChatGPT spread globally. Having served major international organizations such as Upwork, Grammarly, Airtable, and Datadog while strengthening its reputation, the company reached a scale by 2025 capable of managing over a billion customer interactions per month.
Founded more than seven years ago, Forethought sought to demonstrate in practice how artificial intelligence could transform the customer service sector. Deon Nicholas, co-founder and CEO of the company, evaluated this acquisition as a significant milestone, emphasizing that AI agents are now deeply transforming not only customer experience but also numerous industries worldwide.
Zendesk plans to fully support Forethought's current customers and has begun the process of integrating its advanced technologies into its own products. This approach includes creating more specialized AI agents, self-evolving systems, voice automation tools, and solutions with greater autonomy.
These moves are expected to accelerate Zendesk's new product development process by more than a year. Although the financial details of the acquisition have not yet been announced, Forethought had previously raised a total of $115 million from various investors.
Zendesk itself transitioned to a private company status in 2022 as part of a $10.2 billion deal.
