Aluminium prices on the world market have reached their highest level in the last decade

In recent months, the price of aluminum on the global market has reached its highest level in the past decade, according to Zamin.uz.
Due to various global disruptions and bottlenecks in logistics systems, the value of this metal has increased by twenty percent. At a time when the U.S. government has declared aluminum a strategically important raw material, new companies engaged in recycling are seeking to leverage artificial intelligence technologies to gain maximum advantage from the current situation.
These developments are being widely covered in international technology publications. As emphasized by Matanya Horovitz, technical lead at Amp Corporation, although aluminum accounts for just over one percent of total waste volume, one ton of it sells for more than a thousand dollars.
This factor alone makes it one of the most profitable materials in the recycling industry. According to data from the Environmental Protection Agency, currently only about twenty percent of aluminum is recycled, while the majority ends up as waste in landfills.
Technology companies such as Sortera and Amp have set themselves the goal of significantly improving this rate through the use of artificial intelligence. Sortera has launched its second major production facility in the state of Tennessee.
The facility uses an array of sensors, including laser devices, high-precision cameras, and X-ray beams. Artificial intelligence algorithms analyze each metal fragment in detail, determining its chemical composition and purity with high accuracy.
This approach greatly enhances the quality of aluminum sorting, enabling increased net profit per kilogram of product and elevating manufacturing efficiency to a new level.
Amp Corporation, meanwhile, has adopted a somewhat different technical approach. Their AI system identifies aluminum cans and containers within mixed waste streams moving along conveyor belts, using specialized infrared cameras.
Robotic mechanical arms and air-pressure systems then separate the metal with over ninety percent accuracy. Such advanced technologies not only help reduce domestic aluminum dependence but also contribute to the conservation of a resource critically important to the economy.
These kinds of projects deliver not only economic benefits but also play a significant role in protecting the environment.
