Okeanning qariyb oʻn ming metr chuqurligida turli materiallar va uskunalarni sinovdan chiqarish jarayoni naqd besh yuz oʻttiz etti kun davom etdi. Bu koʻrsatkich bunday oʻta ogʻir va murakkab sharoitlarda olib borilgan eng uzoq muddatli tadqiqotlardan biri sifatida qayd etildi hamda suv osti tizimlaridan foydalanish boʻyicha yangi jahon rekordini oʻrnatdi.

Muhandis va mutaxassislarning tushuntirishicha, sinovlar har qanday asbob-uskuna uchun oʻta xavfli muhitda olib borilgan. Bunday chuqurlikda ulkan suv bosimi, past harorat, yuqori darajadagi shoʻrlanish va kislorod yetishmasligi kabi omillar birlashib, materiallarga kuchli salbiy ta'sir ko'rsatadi.

Odatda standart qurilish materiallari bunday tajovuzkor muhitda tezda yemiriladi va yaroqsiz holga keladi. Biroq tadqiqotchilar ota tejamkor energiya ta'minoti tizimi va korroziyadan himoya qilishning maxsus usullarini qo'llash orqali uskunaning barqaror ishlashini ta'minlashga muvaffaq bo'ldi.
