Rivian company will start delivering new R2 SUVs from June

Rivian announced that it will begin delivering its new generation R2 electric SUVs to the first customers starting June 9 of this year. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The automaker has been working intensively over the past few months to prepare for mass production of the new model and significantly increase factory capacity. This new model will be offered at a much lower price than the current R1 lineup and is aimed at a broader consumer audience.
These details have been widely covered in international media. The electric SUV will initially go on sale in a trim level priced slightly below sixty thousand US dollars.
However, Rivian plans to introduce a base version in 2027 with a starting price of around thirty-eight thousand five hundred dollars. Additionally, the manufacturer promises to offer an even more affordable variant priced around forty-five thousand dollars by the end of next year.
It should be noted that this price point has been used as a key advertising message since the initial presentation in 2024. Rivian’s leadership expects significant results from the new R2 model.
The company’s founder and CEO, RJ Scaringe, called this project the most important and transformative in the company’s history to date. The manufacturer aims to deliver up to twenty-five thousand vehicles to customers by the end of this year.
To achieve this, the company is focusing on sharply increasing production speed and further improving technological processes. According to the company’s long-term strategy, the R2 model and its smaller sibling, the R3 hatchback, must bring Rivian its first-ever profit since its founding in 2009.
Currently, the brand is mobilizing all available resources to strengthen its position in the global electric vehicle market and compete effectively with major players like Tesla. These steps are crucial for ensuring the company’s financial stability.
