Amazon announced the acquisition of Apple's stake in Globalstar

Amazon has disclosed important information regarding the acquisition of satellite operator Globalstar in official documents submitted to the US Federal Communications Commission. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Under this agreement, Amazon will also take over the stake belonging to Apple Corporation. This refers to twenty percent of Globalstar's shares.
This stake was previously granted to Apple based on a long-term partnership agreement to expand satellite communication capabilities on iPhone smartphones. Today, the Globalstar network serves as the primary infrastructure providing uninterrupted emergency services for iPhone users in areas without mobile coverage.
Apple initially invested three hundred million dollars to develop this project, later increasing the investment amount to over one billion dollars. In exchange for such large investments, Globalstar committed to allocating the majority of its satellite capacity specifically to serve Apple users.
According to the information sent to the Federal Communications Commission, this massive deal, valued at over eleven billion dollars, will be carried out in several stages. Amazon will first merge Globalstar with its special subsidiary, and then fully acquire Apple's stake.
Amazon management specifically emphasized that this acquisition will not affect the quality of satellite services currently available for iPhone devices and that existing agreements will remain in force. Amazon intends to use this infrastructure for much broader and strategic purposes.
The company aims to create a network based on next-generation technology that enables satellites to connect directly with smartphones and other mobile devices without intermediate equipment. This system is expected to take communication quality worldwide to a completely new level in the future.
Currently, the satellite communication market for smartphones has already become a major arena of competition among the world's largest technology corporations. Along with Apple and Amazon, SpaceX and Google are also rapidly developing their own personal projects.
This agreement indicates that satellite communication is no longer just a tool intended for emergency situations, but is becoming an integral and important part of the daily global mobile network.
