Deezer allows fans to create remixes using artificial intelligence

The global music streaming service Deezer has introduced its new Remix Lab feature. Zamin.uz reported on this.
This update allows fans to creatively rework their favorite songs. Most importantly, the entire process is carried out based on the consent of the original performers and copyright holders.
Artists will continue to earn revenue from every stream. According to Techcrunch.com, this service possesses features that set it apart from its competitors.
Currently, platforms such as YouTube and Spotify are emphasizing the creation of remixes using artificial intelligence. However, Deezer preferred to take a different path.
According to ixbt.com, Remix Lab works through special in-app tools. Users can change the speed of a song, add sound effects, or completely update the genre.
Deezer has long opposed the excessive proliferation of artificial intelligence in the music industry. The platform recently introduced a tool to analyze playlists on services like Spotify and Apple Music to identify AI-generated tracks.
The company is among the few services that remove such tracks from its recommendations. Deezer CEO Alexis Lanternier noted that this remix tool allows fans to participate directly in the creative process and connect more closely with their favorite music.
All functions were developed while respecting the full participation and rights of the artists, ensuring maximum revenue for each track. For now, the Remix Lab feature has been launched as a pilot in France.
Users can rework the works of famous French performers such as Celine Dion, Alain Souchon, Alonzo, and Ronisia. There are plans to implement this service in other countries in the future.
According to music industry experts, the model offered by Deezer could be an effective alternative to the AI invasion. If the project is successful, other streaming platforms are expected to adopt this method of engaging with fans while preserving copyright.
Additionally, special competitions are being organized within the framework of Deezer Club. The authors of the best remixes will be announced in early September.
The winning tracks will be included in a special playlist on the Deezer platform. The authors will be rewarded with tickets to Deezer Purple Door events and exclusive gifts.
