The Telegram app will completely cease its operations from July 1.
The Telega application is being officially discontinued. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

Created by Russian developers and positioned as an alternative to the Telegram messenger, this project will completely cease its operations starting July 1, 2024. The project team announced this via an official statement.

Cited reasons include technical and legal constraints. According to the developers, there is currently no possibility to further develop the project.

The team acknowledged that, as a third-party application, it is impossible to meet all of Telegram’s system requirements and ensure full localization, which has made it difficult to guarantee service quality for users.

One of the main reasons cited is the restrictions imposed by major technology platforms. In particular, its removal from Apple’s App Store had a serious impact on the project’s audience growth.

Under these circumstances, maintaining the application was deemed economically and technically inefficient. While there are many unofficial applications in the Telegram ecosystem, most of them are constantly under pressure regarding security and copyright issues.

The Telega project has become yet another service to fall victim to such strict policies. The app once offered users additional features and a special interface.

There is good news for users of the paid Telega Plus subscription: the developers have promised to refund all spent funds.

The procedure and exact timelines for refunds are expected to be announced soon via official channels.

Among Uzbek users, Telegram alternatives are quite popular.

However, the shutdown of projects like Telega once again highlights how crucial security and stability are for third-party applications. Experts recommend using the official Telegram app for the safety of personal data.

In conclusion, the discontinuation of the Telega project reflects the complexity of competition in the messenger market and inter-platform relations. Starting July 1, this application will no longer support messaging, and users are advised to switch to alternative options.
