TakeMe2Space will launch the MOI-1A satellite with SpaceX in October 2026
Indian spacetech startup TakeMe2Space is preparing to launch the country's first orbital computing satellite on October 1, 2026, One.uz reports.
The MOI-1A device, weighing less than 50 kilograms, will be sent into space as part of SpaceX's Transporter-18 mission. The project represents a significant step in space research, with the potential to fundamentally change the process of data processing in orbit.
Technical capabilities The MOI-1A satellite is equipped with modern NVIDIA Orin NX processors designed to perform computations directly in orbit. This approach allows data to be processed in space, eliminating the need to transmit raw datasets to Earth.
As a result, the load on ground infrastructure is significantly reduced, and analysis results are obtained much faster. Artificial intelligence and collaboration As part of the project, TakeMe2Space has already signed contracts with 23 clients, including companies specializing in geographic information systems and educational institutions.
The client list includes U.S.-based Little Place Labs, which focuses on analyzing space data. Through this collaboration, clients will be able to upload their containerized artificial intelligence models to the satellite.
These AI models will process data directly in space as the satellite passes over specific regions. Instead of sending raw data dumps to Earth, only the final analytical results will be transmitted.
This improves communication channel efficiency and sharply reduces the volume of data transmitted. Notably, Elon Musk had previously announced that his company SpaceX plans to begin launching satellites equipped with NVIDIA chips into orbit starting in 2027.
However, the Indian startup has moved ahead of the competition, planning to launch its innovative device into space a year earlier.
The successful execution of this mission is expected to further accelerate the integration of space technologies and artificial intelligence, setting new standards in the orbital computing market.
