Why did the president return the anti-corruption law approved by parliament?

At an expanded meeting dedicated to the effectiveness of anti-corruption efforts and future priority tasks, President Mirziyoyev announced that he returned the anti-corruption law approved by parliament for reworking due to several shortcomings.
“Currently, there is no clear list of corrupt crimes in legislation. The law approved by parliament is mainly limited to strengthening penalties,” said the President.
The head of state also emphasized that the law has several shortcomings. In particular, it was pointed out that issues such as preventing corruption, educating our people in the spirit of intolerance towards it, creating preventive mechanisms, and encouraging those who help expose crimes were not reflected.
Therefore, the President stated that he would return this law for reworking.
At the same time, it was noted that responsibility for crimes related to the legalization of criminal proceeds should also be aligned with international standards.
