
In 2026, 1.9 trillion soums are planned to be allocated in Uzbekistan for financing ecological projects. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This was announced by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in his address to the parliament and the nation. These funds will be directed towards creating green areas, combating dust and sand storms, and improving the ecosystem.
In Surxondaryo region, a 10,000-hectare "green belt" is planned, and in Sirdaryo region, an 84-kilometer-long "green wall" will be established. In the regions of Karakalpakstan, Khorezm, Bukhara, and Navoi, areas totaling 250,000 hectares, including 115,000 hectares in the dried part of the Aral Sea, will be afforested.
Additionally, botanical gardens, dendrariums, and at least 20 shaded alleys are planned to be created in all regions. Starting from 2026, "green" technical schools will begin operating.
Every year, 10,000 specialists will be trained there based on dual education. Furthermore, the activities of the Central Asian Green University will be expanded.
Laboratories for assessing air, water, and soil quality will be established, and research will be conducted to strengthen the natural ventilation systems of cities. These projects are aimed at ensuring the country's ecological sustainability.
