Important changes were introduced to the procedure for determining the exchange rate of the Uzbekistani sum

Important changes have been introduced to the procedure for assigning a one-time allowance paid upon the birth of a child in Uzbekistan, commonly referred to in colloquial speech as “suyunchi puli.” This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The new procedure aims to ensure social justice and provide material support to families with children. Now, families whose first child has passed away are also entitled to receive this state allowance for each subsequently born living child.
Previously existing legal gaps have been eliminated, addressing citizens’ justified objections. Under the former procedure, the one-time allowance was allocated only for the family’s first child.
If the first child died during childbirth or shortly thereafter, the next born child was registered in documents as the second child. As a result, due to the requirements of current legislation, families were denied payment of the allowance.
Such situations created both moral and material difficulties for many families. After reviewing numerous appeals received during public receptions and analyzing life situations, the Cabinet of Ministers introduced amendments to its relevant decision.
According to the new rules, if a family’s first or any subsequent child is stillborn, the “suyunchi puli” is paid for each subsequently born living child.
This change indicates that the state’s reforms in the field of social protection continue consistently.
It should be noted that, as of today, the amount of the one-time allowance paid upon the birth of a child is set based on the minimum wage and is approximately 890 thousand soums. These funds are intended to cover the initial needs of the newborn.
The implementation of the new procedure will help protect the rights of thousands of families and expand the scope of support provided to them.
