An increase in electricity tariffs is expected in Uzbekistan from June.

Starting June 1, electricity tariffs in Uzbekistan will increase, and precise calculations have been announced regarding how much monthly payments for households will change. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to official data provided by the Ministry of Energy, for households consuming an average of 500 kWh per month, the difference in monthly payments will amount to 40,000 soum. These changes represent the next step in reforming the energy sector and implementing market mechanisms in the country.
Under the new procedure, electricity prices for the public will be calculated based on consumption tiers. Specifically, for consumers using up to 200 kWh per month, the current tariff will rise from 600 soum to 650 soum per kWh.
This means the price per kWh for the first tier of consumption will increase by 50 soum. This approach aims to socially protect low-consumption households.
For consumption between 201 and 500 kWh per month, tariffs will increase from 800 soum to 900 soum per kWh. Thus, the payment for each kWh in this range will rise by 100 soum.
As a result, households with higher monthly consumption are expected to see a more noticeable difference in their total payment amounts. This system encourages the public to use resources wisely and economically.
According to calculations by ministry specialists, if a household consumes a total of 500 kWh per month, the final payment under the current tariffs would be 360,000 soum. After the new prices take effect, this amount will rise to 400,000 soum.
As a result, the analysis of monthly expenses shows that the consumer’s monthly burden will increase by an average of 40,000 soum. This figure allows household heads to plan their expenses in advance.
The Ministry of Energy explains these changes as part of the modernization of the sector and the transition to market economic relations. It is emphasized that the gradual increase in tariffs is designed to distribute the burden on household budgets smoothly rather than sharply.
At the same time, the new prices will encourage the public to use electricity more economically. Especially during the summer season, when the use of air conditioners and other cooling appliances increases, monitoring each kWh becomes critically important.
Specialists recommend applying simple but effective measures to save electricity. Turning off unnecessary lights at home, using energy-saving modern lamps, and operating household appliances only when needed are appropriate steps.
Additionally, maintaining air conditioner temperatures at moderate levels helps save significant amounts of energy. Even small savings under the new tariff conditions can positively affect the amount shown on the monthly payment receipt.
In conclusion, starting June 1, the new era will demand greater responsibility from consumers. For households consuming 500 kWh per month, monthly payments are expected to rise from 360,000 soum to 400,000 soum.
From now on, regularly monitoring electricity meter readings should not just be a habit, but an essential part of every family’s financial strategy. This contributes not only to balancing personal budgets but also to ensuring the stability of the country’s energy system.
