Risk of mudflows and floods announced in several regions of Uzbekistan

The Agency of Uzbekistan for Hydrometeorology has issued an urgent warning about expected adverse weather conditions across the republic from May 26 to June 1. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to specialists, heavy rainfall is expected in several regions of the country. As a result, the likelihood of flooding in foothill and mountainous areas, as well as flash floods, is high.
In particular, the districts of Yakkabog', Dehqonobod, Chiroqchi, Kitob, Shahrisabz, Qamashi, and G'uzor in Kashkadarya Region are at risk of natural disasters. In Surkhandarya Region, the districts of Sariosiyo, Uzun, Oltinsoy, Denov, Boysun, Sherobod, Sho'rchi, Qumqo'rg'on, and Muzrobot have been included in the list of hazardous areas.
Flooding and flash floods are also possible in several districts of Samarkand and Navoi regions, including Urgut, Bulung'ur, Xatirchi, and Nurota. The mountainous areas of Jizzakh and Tashkent regions, especially the districts of Zomin, Baxmal, Ohangaron, and Bo'stonliq, as well as the cities of Angren and Olmaliq, are assessed as having a high level of danger.
The situation is also expected to become serious in the Fergana Valley regions. Residents of districts such as Pop and Chust in Namangan, So'x and Shohimardon in Fergana, and Xonabod and Marhamat in Andijan have been warned.
Specialists are urging residents of mountainous areas, vacationers, and drivers traveling on mountain roads to exercise extreme caution. It is also noted that due to the accumulation of heavy rainwater, some populated areas may face flooding.
Therefore, strict adherence to all safety measures is recommended, and visiting hazardous areas should be avoided if not necessary. To prevent undesirable situations, relevant organizations have been put on alert.
