Streets in Tashkent to be closed for Eid al-Adha prayers

Tomorrow, May 27, Eid al-Adha prayers are expected to be performed in 119 mosques in Tashkent. Zamin.uz reported this.
The information service of the capital's Road Safety Department provided official information on this matter. In order to hold the holiday celebrations at a high level, maintain public order, and create convenient conditions for worshippers, the movement of motor vehicles will be temporarily restricted on a number of city streets.
According to the established order, the restrictions will last from 24:00 on May 26 until 08:00 on the morning of May 27. These measures will cover almost all districts of the capital, including Mirzo Ulugbek, Bektemir, Olmazor, Shaykhontohur, Chilanzor, Uchtepa, Yunusobod, Yakkasaroy, Sergeli, Yashnobod, and Mirobod districts.
Main attention will be focused on the areas around large mosques and crowded areas. In particular, roads around historical complexes such as Turabuva, Khotan, Alibek, Islomobod, and Hazrati Imom will be temporarily closed.
Additionally, movement will be stopped on streets adjacent to the Shaykh Zayniddin, Khoja Alambardor, Kok Ota, and Shaykh Muhammad Sodiq Muhammad Yusuf mosques. Restrictions for drivers will also apply around the Novza, Minor, Mirzo Yusuf, and Islom Ota mosques.
Such measures serve to ensure the safety of citizens coming for the holiday prayer and to prevent traffic jams. The Road Safety Department asks drivers to be understanding of these temporary restrictions and to plan their routes in advance.
Public transport movement will also be revised in connection with the holiday. All necessary measures have been taken to create convenience for citizens, and sector employees have been deployed to maintain order on the roads.
Once the Eid prayer is completed, transport movement on the streets will be restored to the usual order.
