Against the backdrop of conflicts in the Middle East, American diplomacy has taken a new step. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The US Ambassador to Israel, Mike Hakabi, visited the village of Tayba, located east of Ramallah, on July 19. There, he met with citizens and representatives of religious communities affected by attacks from Jewish settlers.
Tayba is known as an area predominantly inhabited by Arab Christians, famous for its historic churches. Recently, one of the oldest churches in this village was burned down by vandals, causing a significant uproar in the community.
Ambassador Hakabi described the incident as clear terrorism and vandalism. He emphasized that desecrating any sacred place—be it a church, mosque, or synagogue—regardless of religion, nationality, or race, is a crime against humanity and God.
The US diplomat stated that measures are being taken to ensure the safety of all American citizens in Israel following this incident, and strict demands are being made for the punishment of those responsible. Mike Hakabi also expressed concerns about the inadequacy of law enforcement's actions.
According to him, those guilty must be held accountable, and this process cannot be overlooked. The ambassador highlighted that his visit to Tayba was not only to show solidarity with the victims but also to gather specific information about the incident and draw the international community's attention to this issue.
Additionally, Mike Hakabi had recently criticized Israeli officials for refusing to grant visas to Christian organizations. This situation has taken on a more serious tone against the backdrop of religious attacks in Tayba.
The ambassador promised to intensify his efforts to uphold the principles of humanity and justice in the village. As a result, the incident that occurred in Tayba has resonated widely in the international diplomatic arena.
The personal visit of the US ambassador further underscored the seriousness of the issue. Experts consider this initiative an important step towards ensuring interfaith harmony and legal accountability in the region.
