
A large media forum held in the city of Khankendi, Azerbaijan, has given new meaning to the relations between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan along with the latest events in the region. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
At the forum, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev expressed gratitude to the Uzbek people and leadership. He emphasized that Uzbekistan has a special role in the restoration of Karabakh.
In particular, he highly appreciated the establishment of a school named after Mirzo Ulughbek in the city of Fuzuli, intended for 960 students, initiated by Shavkat Mirziyoyev. According to Aliyev, this assistance from Uzbekistan is not only material but also a moral support.
During the forum, Uzbek journalist Sherzodkhon Qudratxoja addressed the president with a question about the Zangezur corridor. Aliyev stated that this corridor would be an important economic and political route connecting not only the two countries but the entire region and Eurasia.
He expressed confidence that the project would fundamentally change the development and cooperation of the region. Additionally, at the forum, Ilham Aliyev spoke about his father, former president Heydar Aliyev.
He noted that during the most difficult times for the homeland, his father made tough decisions in the interests of the nation, but he could not witness the liberation of Karabakh. Uzbekistan's contribution to the restoration process in Karabakh is clearly visible.
Experts and the public state that this is a solid foundation for strategic cooperation between the two countries. The establishment of new schools, international projects, and the strengthening of brotherhood spirit are creating new opportunities for the development of the region, including the entire Turkic world and the Eurasian community.
