Uzbekistan and Afghanistan discussed security in Kabul

The delegation led by the Chairman of the State Security Service of Uzbekistan, General-Colonel Bahodir Qurbonov, met with Acting Minister of National Defense of the Taliban, Mullah Muhammad Yaqoob. The meeting was attended by Deputy Chairman of the NSS Farrukh Muxtorov, Commander of the Border Troops Salimjon Hasanov, and other officials.

The parties thoroughly discussed the security situation in Afghanistan, regional stability, and economic development issues. The Uzbek delegation emphasized its support for the peace and economic development being established in Afghanistan and the necessity of strengthening bilateral relations.

Mullah Muhammad Yaqoob highly appreciated the just and positive position of the Uzbek government towards Afghanistan. During the meeting, the activation of cooperation in the areas of border security, trade, and logistics was noted.

The parties exchanged views on ensuring regional security, expanding border cooperation, and implementing mutually beneficial projects.
