The military cooperation between the United States and Ukraine has reached a new level. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
BAE Systems Land & Armaments LP has signed a contract worth 9 million dollars to conduct technical inspections of Bradley combat vehicles and bring them to full combat readiness. This funding will be used within the framework of the Ukraine Security Initiative for the 2025 fiscal year.
Although the contract amount is not large, it represents the first official military aid provided to Ukraine during Donald Trump's second presidential term. A total of 18 billion dollars has been allocated by the USA for ensuring Ukraine's security in 2022 and 2023.
In 2024, it is planned to allocate 13.77 billion dollars for a new military package. The new contract and aid package are significant in strengthening the strategic partnership between Washington and Kyiv.
The USA is reaffirming its commitment to Ukraine. According to reports, the Trump administration is currently considering options for providing additional billions of dollars in military aid to Ukraine.
This assistance is also being evaluated as a response to Russia's recent drone and missile attacks. Additionally, Trump has decided for the first time to send weapons to Ukraine under a presidential order without the approval of the US Congress.
The new aid package will include Patriot missiles, GMLRS munitions for HIMARS systems, and medium-range missiles. Trump has emphasized that he has sensed discomfort from Putin and has reached an agreement with NATO to deliver weapons to Kyiv.
In conclusion, changes in American politics and new directions in foreign policy have ushered in a new era of military assistance to Ukraine. The 9 million dollar contract is being regarded as a new trend in the relations between the two countries and is expected to lay the groundwork for larger aid packages in the future.
The strategic partnership between the USA and Ukraine is becoming increasingly important not only in the defense sector but also for international stability.
