Sales of famous chocolate and sweets in Russia may be halted. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The main reason for this is a disagreement over prices. X5 Group, one of the major retail chains in Russia, has stopped purchasing products such as Snickers, Twix, M&M's, and Orbit, which belong to Mars, in its Pyatyorochka and Perekryostok supermarkets.
This was announced by the Pravilamag publication. According to X5's press service, this decision was made because the prices proposed by Mars were too high.
The company considers the price increases to be unjustified. Mars has expressed regret over this decision and hopes to find a mutually beneficial solution.
According to reports, Mars's current stock is expected to last about two months. These products may completely disappear from stores in August and September.
However, X5 representatives emphasize that the shelves will not remain empty, and similar products from other manufacturers will be offered instead of Mars. Mars is one of the largest confectionery manufacturers in the world.
The company includes popular brands such as Snickers, Twix, Bounty, Mars, Milky Way, M&M's, Skittles, Orbit, Eclipse, and Korkunov chocolates. Additionally, at the beginning of 2025, Mars and Mondelez announced that they would increase prices for their products against the backdrop of inflation.
This situation is causing changes in market prices.
