Forest fires in Turkey's Bursa province have been a serious problem for several days. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The high air temperature, increasing winds, and dry weather conditions are causing the fires to spread rapidly. Local residents, emergency services, and official agencies are implementing extensive measures to extinguish the fire.
The fire that started around the Ipekyolu neighborhood in the Gursu district quickly spread to new areas in the evening. Local residents and rescuers are working together to extinguish the flames in the forests between the Gursu TOKI settlements and the Ag‘achalan neighborhood in the Kestel district.
Necessary precautions are being taken to prevent losses. Due to the influence of the wind, the direction of the flames changed, and the fire spread to new areas.
As a result, the residents of the Karahidir neighborhood in the Gursu district were evacuated. Additionally, residents of the Ig‘dir neighborhood, which is at risk from the fire, and the Avdanjik neighborhood in the Osmangazi district were also evacuated as an emergency measure.
A total of 1,163 personnel and 496 units of equipment, including firefighting equipment and aircraft, have been mobilized to extinguish the fire. Firefighting efforts continued uninterrupted during the night, and aerial support was intensified in the early morning.
Volunteers and local residents are also actively participating in the rescue efforts. Currently, officials are studying the situation at the fire site, assessing the extent of the damage, and analyzing the causes.
The provincial government is taking measures to provide necessary assistance to those affected by the fire. Officials are urging citizens to strictly adhere to safety rules during emergencies.
