North Korean leader Kim Jong Un emphasized that they will definitely achieve victory in the struggle against imperialism and the United States while celebrating the anniversary of the ceasefire agreement of the Korean War in the country. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
His statement was made during a visit to a military museum dedicated to the Korean War of 1950–1953. Kim Jong Un noted that the country will continue to strengthen its military capabilities and transform it into a developed state with a strong army.
The Korean War officially ended with the signing of a ceasefire agreement on July 27, 1953, with the participation of representatives from the United States and China. During the war, both sides crossed the Korean Peninsula several times with attacks and retreats.
Based on this agreement, Korea was divided into two parts – North and South Korea. North Korea celebrates this date every year as "Victory Day," while South Korea does not hold official events, but war veterans are commemorated at memorials in the United States.
The alliance between South Korea and the United States is being strengthened. At a memorial event held in Washington, South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol promised to further develop strategic cooperation with the United States.
He emphasized their intention to protect freedom and peace on the Korean Peninsula by strengthening the blood-tied alliance through expanding cooperation in politics, security, economy, and culture. At the same time, North Korea's cooperation with Russia is increasing.
According to South Korean officials, North Korea has sent thousands of military personnel to Russia, mainly stationed in the Kursk region. Additionally, it has been reported that Pyongyang has supplied ammunition to Russia.
There is a possibility of sending more military forces in the near future. Kim Jong Un visited several monuments dedicated to war veterans.
He also visited the Friendship Tower built in honor of Chinese army fighters, met with artillery units, and celebrated this historic date.
