The US announced the consequences of Russia's withdrawal from peace in Ukraine

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that if the Russian government rejects the proposal to cease fire for 30 days in Ukraine, it could have significant implications. This was reported by Reuters.
Rubio explained that if Moscow responds negatively, Washington will try to determine the Kremlin's true intentions and mindset.
He emphasized that the US is eagerly awaiting Russia's response and has called for considering the possibility of halting military actions.
"If they refuse, it says a lot about their intentions and mindset," Rubio said.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov commented on the situation. He noted that Moscow will not compromise with Kyiv if it threatens the fate of these people.
Lavrov stated that the Russian government knows well what steps to take in this conflict.
"It's not about territories, but about people who have been deprived of their history and rights," the minister said.
Lavrov also pointed out that if the West doubts Moscow's position, it may continue to make its mistakes.
It should be noted that Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on March 6 that there would be no approaches to resolve the conflict in Ukraine.
All conditions for signing a peace treaty have been announced several times:
Ukraine must withdraw its Armed Forces from the DNR, LNR, Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia regions, Ukraine must renounce joining NATO, and the processes of neutrality, denazification, and demilitarization must be implemented.
