American senator called on Russia to agree to peace and threatened with sanctions
American Republican Senator Lindsey Graham has called on Russia to agree to a 30-day ceasefire, warning that new sanctions may be imposed otherwise. He stated this on his page on the social network "X".

Graham expressed his satisfaction upon hearing that Ukraine accepted the US proposal for a 30-day ceasefire.

"Trump's team, well done. I hope Russia will comply as well. If Russia refuses, we need to impose sanctions against them," the senator said.

Graham emphasized that Congress should impose enhanced sanctions against Russia. He stated that these restrictions should affect not only Russia but also the countries that purchase its goods, including oil, gas, and uranium.

"Russia should have already felt the unbearable economic pain as a result of its brutal invasion of Ukraine," Graham added.

According to reports, during a 9-hour meeting between US and Ukrainian delegations in Saudi Arabia, Ukraine accepted the proposal for a 30-day ceasefire, but it was emphasized that this condition is also dependent on Russia's agreement.

The Kremlin announced that it is studying the proposals put forward during the negotiations held in Jeddah. Moscow stated that it is waiting for official information from the US regarding the details of the negotiations.
