According to him, it is time to reach an agreement to cease fire and establish stable peace between Russia and Ukraine. President Trump indicated that this process should be completed by August 8 and expressed his readiness to take additional measures to ensure peace.
The deadline set by Trump – a 10-day ultimatum ending on August 8 – is being evaluated as serious pressure on Russia. If the war does not stop, the US has promised to impose new, nearly 100 percent secondary tariffs against Russia and its trading partners.

According to Russian President's press secretary Dmitry Peskov, the country's economy is operating under a large number of sanctions and has developed a certain level of immunity in this situation.
