Kalo-de-Moro beach in Mallorca was previously a place known only to the local population, characterized by tranquility and natural beauty. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
However, in the last year, this beach has gained widespread attention on social media, leading to serious problems due to a large influx of tourists. The daily number of visitors has exceeded 4,000, with more than 1,000 cars arriving at the beach.
This has resulted in the degradation of the natural environment. A large amount of garbage is being washed up from the beautiful sandy beach.
Approximately 70 kilograms of sand are being taken away by tourists every day, which is harming the environment. The local population is blocking the roads and expressing their discontent with signs saying "The beach is ours."
Leaflets are being distributed to tourists advising them not to go to the beach. More than 1,300 videos have been posted on social media platforms like TikTok, with videos that have millions of views contributing to the beach becoming an "internet victim."
As a result, photos of Kalo-de-Moro beach have been removed from official tourism websites, and influencers have been advised to write about less popular places. This situation once again highlights the need to preserve nature and develop tourism sustainably.
