The recent attack by Russian troops on the city of Lozovaya in the Kharkiv region has resulted in serious tragic consequences in Ukraine. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The head of the city administration, Sergey Zelenskiy, announced this in a statement on the morning of August 5. As a result of the attack, important infrastructure facilities, multi-storey residential buildings, and private houses in the city suffered significant damage.
According to Zelenskiy, several civilians were injured in the attack, including two young children. Lozovaya had never faced such a powerful and large-scale attack before.
This was the heaviest blow the city has experienced since the war began, the city leader emphasized. Currently, rescuers, doctors, and emergency medical teams are working continuously to eliminate the consequences of the disaster.
Recovery work is ongoing in the affected areas, and water supply is being restored. Some districts, particularly Avilovka and Katerinivka, remain without electricity for now.
Official sources have not specified the exact types of weapons used in the attack. However, the Ukrainian Air Force had previously warned about the movement of drones launched by Russia before the attack.
Additionally, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy visited the Kharkiv region a day before the attack, on August 4. Some analysts are assessing this attack as a provocative action.
According to the data from the Ukrainian Air Force, on the night of August 5, the Russian Federation launched an attack on Ukrainian territory using 46 "Shahed" type unmanned aerial vehicles, various models of drones, and "Iskander-M" ballistic missiles. These actions posed a significant threat not only to Lozovaya but also to the residents of other cities, disrupting their peace.
Civilians are being forced to seek shelter to save their lives. This incident in Lozovaya serves as a reminder of how negatively the war impacts people's lives.
While there is hope for peace, each such attack tests these hopes.
