According to a survey conducted among the high-income population in Russia, an individual needs to earn at least 250 thousand rubles a month to lead a simple life. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This amount is approximately equivalent to 32 thousand dollars. This information is based on the research titled "High-Income Russians: Status Consumption and Consumption Preferences" by NIU VSHE.
The study surveyed representatives of the top 10 percent of earners in the country. Interestingly, 75 percent of them rated their financial situation as average.
According to the survey results, the threshold for true wealth is considered to be an income of 500 thousand rubles or more per month. According to Rosstat, in 2025, the number of people earning 1 million rubles or more per month in Russia exceeded 45 thousand, which has doubled in two years.
In 2023, the number of such individuals was 24,400. These figures indicate that there is a significant disparity in incomes in Russia and that the living standards of the high-income group differ markedly from those of the average population.
At the same time, this situation also confirms the existence of social and economic inequality in the country.
