Kazakhstan has risen to a higher position than Uzbekistan in the happiness ranking
Every year on March 20, on the occasion of International Happiness Day, the World Happiness Report 2025 ranking has been announced. Finland has been recognized as the happiest country in the world for the eighth consecutive time. Among Central Asian countries, Kazakhstan showed the highest result.
In compiling this ranking, criteria such as GDP per capita, life expectancy, social support, level of personal freedom, level of corruption, and generosity of the population are taken into account.
The ranking among Central Asian countries is as follows:
- Kazakhstan 43rd place (up 6 positions)
- Uzbekistan 53rd place (down 6 positions)
- Kyrgyzstan 75th place (remained unchanged)
- Tajikistan 90th place (up 2 positions)
- Turkmenistan was not included in the ranking.
The United States, failing to make it into the top 10, has dropped to 24th place. Russia has risen six positions to 66th place, while Ukraine, on the contrary, has fallen six positions to 111th place.
Afghanistan has been recognized as the unhappiest country (147th place). Along with it, Sierra Leone, Lebanon, Malawi, and Zimbabwe have also been recorded in the lowest ranks of the ranking.
