In Atyrau, Kazakhstan, a person was incorrectly released early due to a surname error in the investigation detention center. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to Rustem Tungishbayev, deputy chairman of the Committee for the Execution of Sentences of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the released prisoner turned out to be another person. The similarity in names and surnames confused the staff, leading to the issuance of incorrect documents.
Interestingly, several leaders of the detention center signed these documents. According to the "Aq Jayiq" newspaper, after this error was identified, a criminal case was opened for violation of the law.
The released individual was re-arrested and returned to the detention center in a short period. Rustem Tungishbayev emphasized that responsible individuals will be held accountable.
An internal service check is currently ongoing, and additional control mechanisms will be implemented to prevent such errors. Local residents and social media users expressed various opinions about this incident.
Some referred to it as "the most astonishing prison error," while others pointed out that such negligence could lead to serious consequences. This situation highlighted the shortcomings in the system and reiterated the need for improvement.
