In July, the German police identified more than 4,000 attempts to cross illegally at the western borders, particularly through France, Luxembourg, and Belgium. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Of these cases, 2,573 were related to individuals attempting to enter the federal states of Rhineland-Palatinate and Saar through France. During the inspections, some of those attempting illegal crossings were returned to their countries: 1,364 people were deported to France, 869 to Luxembourg, and 132 to Belgium.
These figures only include data from July, and final statistics have not yet been published. According to the German Federal Police, 144 smugglers were arrested during border control, and 480 people were detained based on orders.
Starting from September 16, 2024, Germany reintroduced temporary controls at all its borders. Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt announced that this control regime would continue after September.
These measures are aimed at reducing illegal migration and ensuring border security
