An important construction element used in the project — a beam — broke and fell onto the railway track. According to the press service of Kazakhstan Railways, the incident happened during work operations.
The transport police have opened a criminal case under the article “violation of labor protection rules” regarding this incident, and the investigation is currently ongoing. According to the regional health department, one of the injured was admitted to intensive care in critical condition, while the other three refused medical assistance.
Experts emphasize the necessity of strict adherence to safety regulations during construction, as such incidents pose serious risks not only to workers but also to the entire railway system. Therefore, safety measures must be strengthened in all construction processes.
