Insta360 employees lost weight and won a million
Insta360, a company located in Guangdong province in southern China, launched a unique and motivational campaign for its employees. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

The rules for participating in this program called “Lose weight and earn money” are very simple: for every 500 grams lost, the management rewards 500 yuan (approximately 70 dollars). At the same time, the system works both ways — if an employee gains weight, they pay a fine of 800 yuan (112 dollars) for every added 500 grams.

Interestingly, so far no one has been fined. Ninety-nine employees joined the campaign, collectively losing 950 kilograms and receiving more than 1 million yuan in rewards.

According to the company’s management, the goal of this program is not only weight loss but also to promote a healthy lifestyle and create a positive environment at the workplace. This initiative was widely discussed on social media, with many users expressing their desire for similar projects to be organized in their own companies.

Earlier, the Wonderlab company in Guangdong also held a one-month weight loss competition. Two hundred twenty-four people participated, losing a total of 750 kilograms and sharing a reward of 171 thousand yuan.

The participant with the best result lost 16.4 kilograms and won 7,600 yuan. Experts note that such projects align with the Chinese National Health Commission’s weight control and anti-obesity program.

According to national statistics, in 2023, 57 percent of adults in the country suffer from overweight or obesity. If necessary measures are not taken, this figure could reach 65 percent by 2030, significantly increasing healthcare costs.

Therefore, initiatives like these by companies play an important role in maintaining health and preventing diseases.
