A Chinese parrot named Syaogui has broken the world record for quickly and accurately recognizing colors. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to the Guinness World Records, it correctly identified 10 different colors within 33.5 seconds. This result was announced by the Peopletalk publication.
During the test, the bird was presented with ten small plastic containers of the same color and ten balls of straw in different colors. Syaogui's task was to pick up the balls and place them into the matching baskets.
It performed this task with great interest, sorting the balls one by one and placing them in the correct spots. Notably, it was able to distinguish between light and dark shades of pink.
Although it initially made a mistake, it quickly realized the error and corrected it. It is known that this unique ability began during Syaogui's chick stage.
Its owner, noticing its interest in colorful toys, gradually taught it to differentiate colors. This event provides new insights into parrots' ability to recognize colors and helps to further explore the cognitive capabilities of animals.
