Russian President Vladimir Putin proposed freezing the front lines in the Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions during talks held in Alaska. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to Axios news agency, American sources indicated that the Russian leader expressed readiness to cease hostilities after gaining control over the Donbass region and not to attempt to seize other territories. US President Donald Trump accepted Putin's proposal and agreed to halt their actions if Russian armed forces stop the current fighting and control the entire Donbass.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky opposed this proposal, describing it as a misrepresentation of the situation on the front lines. In his view, Putin's proposals are based not only on aggression towards neighboring states but also on military actions against the peace and security of Ukrainian citizens.
Reliable sources say that Donald Trump mentioned that an effective way to reach a peace agreement on territorial expansion issues could be found. He sees this agreement as a quicker and more convenient way to resolve the conflict.
Meanwhile, negotiations continue and the parties are trying to coordinate their interests.
