Public transport fares updated in Karakalpakstan
Public transport fares in the Republic of Karakalpakstan have been set based on new tariffs. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

According to the decision adopted by the Cabinet of Ministers, starting from August 20, 2025, a new payment system for passengers on urban routes has been introduced. A single cash payment on city buses has been set at 2600 soums.

When paying via electronic methods, including transport cards, the automated payment system operator, and bank cards, the price is 2000 soums. Discounts and benefits for passengers have also been established, which are applied depending on the routes and the number of trips.

These discounts are implemented based on separate appendices to the Cabinet of Ministers' decision and serve to reduce expenses for regular users. Additionally, a single payment for taxi routes within the city and intercity routes up to 5 kilometers has been set at 3000 soums.

Tariffs are set with separate indicators for regular passengers, students, people with disabilities, and pensioners, with clearly defined monthly and yearly expenses for regular users. For example, regular passengers may pay 200,000 soums per month and 1,642,000 soums per year.

For people with disabilities, students, and pensioners, these amounts are respectively 100,000 and 912,000 soums. The new tariffs aim to increase the efficiency of the public transport system, ensure transparency, and create conveniences for passengers.

This, in turn, serves to reduce passengers' expenses and encourage regular use. Thus, public transport services in Karakalpakstan are expected to become higher quality and more convenient.
